Originally founded as the Gopalapuram Youth Wing by Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin, the current Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, it was later renamed as the DMK Youth Wing. Officially inaugurated in 1980 by Kalaignar Karunanidhi, the Youth Wing has played a crucial role in shaping the future leaders of the country through its Dravidian ideology and principles.
